HAPPY FATHER’S DAY Planning Resources Inc. would HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
Planning Resources Inc. would like to wish all the Dads, Father Figures, and Dads To Be a very Happy Father’s Day.

Please share your favorite Dad joke to commemorate the day. Below are two of our favorites.
Why are libraries so tall? They have many stories.
What do you get when you cross a fish with an elephant? Swimming trunks.

On June 5, under sunny skies the Planning Resources staff attended the Water Chase Park Grand Opening in New Lenox. The community came out to celebrate the long-awaited new park development and official opening of the park as well as to enjoy hot dogs and games for the kids. The park features a pavilion, a creative play area, basketball court, walking trail, shuffleboard and baggo, a Wiffle ball field, and pickleball courts.

PRI provided OSLAD grant consulting services, a site master plan, and conceptual design through construction observation services for the 3-acre park in the New Lenox Community Park District. The Park represents PRI’s 24th project for the district and continues our working relationship that began in 1998.

All this month we are celebrating the 44th ANNIVER All this month we are celebrating the 44th ANNIVERSARY of PLANNING RESOURCES INC., marking decades of innovative design in landscape architecture, site planning, and urban design. Founded in 1981 by Lan Richart and Pete Pointner as an ecological and planning firm. Today, President and Principal Landscape Architect Darrell Garrison leads the minority-owned, full-service practice.

PRI has significantly impacted metropolitan Chicago's architectural landscape with landmark projects like the Country Club Hills Theater (Country Club Hills, IL), Hadiya Pendleton Park (Chicago, IL), and the Englewood Eco-Line Trail (Chicago, IL). The firm continues to blend experience with innovation, leading cutting-edge projects such as the Chicago Avenue Streetscape honoring Dr. Percy L. Julian and the North Lawndale Employment Network’s Pollinator Garden, both of which will foster community development and economic empowerment upon completion.

The past year has been particularly exciting for PRI, marked by significant milestones and achievements that highlight the firm's commitment to excellence and leadership. Looking ahead, PRI aims to continue elevating design standards and shaping landscapes for future generations.

The white marble sarcophagus stands atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C. Since 1921, it has provided a final resting place for one of America’s unidentified World War I service members, and Unknowns from later wars were added in 1958 and 1984.

At age 16, she came across landscape architecture in a college brochure and decided to declare that as her major on a whim. After a semester, she knew she had made the right decision.

After becoming a professional, she is grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in the field while gaining experience in all phases of the landscape design process.
