Lan-Oak Park and Van Laten Park

The Lan-Oak Park District in Lansing, Illinois contracted PRI to redevelop two of their existing playgrounds at Lan-Oak Park and Van Laten Park.  The Park District tasked PRI with reinvigorating both playgrounds and to provide a “wow” factor to serve as the focal point for each park.  With Lan-Oak Park being the flagship park for the district, PRI designed a new playground and surrounding landscape that featured a large, multi-level apparatus to challenge and empower school age children and an enclosed “tot-lot” play area to allow safe secluded play for younger children.  Van Laten Park’s redesigned playground added a variety of interactive and colorful new play structures to create a dynamic new look and experience.  Each park features assessable routes and seating options to all visitors, improved site drainage and minimal impact to the surrounding areas all while providing updated and exciting new playgrounds to the community.
