Homer Glen – Heritage Park

The Concept Plan for Homer Glen’s “Heritage Park” relied heavily on the involvement from the public in order to produce a design that addressed the many needs and concerns of the community. After thorough site analysis and input from residents and leaders of the village, a conceptual layout was created and revisited a number of times throughout the process that resulted in a final master plan design of the 103 acre site. The program elements are extensive and inclusive; open space for play, along with multiple areas offering structured play apparatuses and stationary fitness equipment. Trails throughout the site provide the opportunity for a 5K run, and parking allows for space to host the annual “Homer Fest” local celebration. This was a complex, multi-disciplinary effort led by PRI, and supported by Tria Architects and David Mason & Associates.
