PRI's field investigations identified three areas for compensatory mitigation of wetland impacts associated with development of a 200-acre quarry in Boone County , Illinois . Monitoring programs for this site included vegetation evaluation, water level determinations, and recommendations for the control of aggressive and non-native plant species. The Mosquito Creek site is regularly used as an outdoor classroom by Belvidere High School students and the Distillery Road site offers visitors a taste of prairie adjacent to the Kishwaukee River .
