Windsor Park Manor, a 60 acre site filled with scenic grounds and lush landscape, is a haven for nature lovers.  PRI worked closely with the Retirement Community and the Village of Carol Stream to provide an Alzheimer's Garden where the plan focused on allowing people with dementia access to a garden that helps relieve tension and allows for personal space for reflection and privacy. This plan allows access outside but always leads the visitors and users back to their house. Good dementia garden design should cater to the able bodied as well as those who have difculties with mobility. PRI included safety modifications like: smooth pathways, appropriate path width for wheel chair access, upward bevelled edges on walkways to keep wheelchairs from rolling into lawns or landscape beds and handrails. An arbor was also added for sun and wind protection.

After the services mentioned above were completed, PRI assisted in the final design and landscaping of the addition which included planning for a townhome project consisting of 62 units located on the property adjacent to the current Windsor Park Manor. The design of the Townhome Land Plan section provides beautiful landscaped grounds complimenting the Tudor-style country village. PRI assisted in getting this plan approved with the Village of Carol Stream as well as the wetland permitting. Included on these grounds are scenic lakes, park benches, paved walkways and beautifully landscaped cul-de-sacs boasting natural flagstone outcroppings. This continuing care retirement community truly provides boundless possibilities for recreation and enjoyment.
